About

The School Counselors at BES spend time doing Social/Emotional Classroom lessons for all students to benefit from. These lessons are between 30-60 minutes, and are done in the classrooms of the students

Lessons are tailored to meet the need of the class, and are typically run once a month. They include a variety of instruction so that all students are able to benefit from the information given.

Students do not need to be referred or requested for counselor classroom instruction, it is a service provided to all students.

Lessons Look Like:

  1. Accessible lessons that all students can participate in

  2. A mixed variety of independent cognitive activities, story reading, as well as group work

  3. A chance for all children to participate in a 'risk free' environment that encourages them to try new things

The lessons we have worked on thus far focus on important life skills, such as being a caring friend, a good listener, and reflecting on our own feelings.
